Lepiota brunneo-incarnata Chodat & Martin syn. L. helveola Bres. s. Rea Lepiote brune Fleischroter Schirmpilz. Cap 1.5–4cm across, convex then expanded and finally even slightly depressed, vinaceous-brown and felty when young later disrupting into scales exposing the whitish-pink ground, especially towards the margin. Stem 20–50 x 5–10mm, white above the short-lived ring, rosy pink below the brownish ring zone and covered in brown tufted scales. Flesh white, pinkish-brown in stem cuticle with age. Smell fruity. Gills white to cream. Cheilocystidia thin-walled, clavate. Spore print white. Spores elliptic to almond-shaped, 7–9.5 x 4–5um. Habitat wood edges, usually on disturbed soil. Season autumn. Rare. Deadly poisonous. Distribution, America and Europe.
